In a landmark event, the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) proudly hosted its first graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026 on Tuesday, under the esteemed patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
This year, a total of 1,321 graduates emerged from various programs, including 484 students from the College of Business, 285 from the College of Computing and Information Technology, 341 from the College of Engineering and Technology, and 211 from the College of Health Sciences.
During the ceremony, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, honored 250 exemplary students for their outstanding academic achievements.
In his speech, HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, emphasized the importance of education and innovation in shaping a sustainable future for Qatar.
UDST's President, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, commended the graduates on their resilience through a rigorous academic year, affirming the value of applied education and hands-on learning.
With a focus on growth, he noted that UDST now boasts 80 academic programs, adding new master’s, bachelor’s, and diploma options in essential fields like midwifery and health administration.
The university is also placing a strong emphasis on research and training in key areas including renewable energy and food security, along with a new strategy for carbon neutrality aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Dr. Al-Naemi highlighted that students benefited from immersive experiences through state-of-the-art labs and industry collaborations, readying them for the job market.
Valedictorian Mohamad Al-Qassabi expressed heartfelt pride in representing his class at this key milestone.
This graduation signifies a pivotal moment in UDST’s evolution, underscoring its dedication to practical education that meets real-world industry demands.
