The 56th edition of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show opened today at Expo Centre Sharjah. It is the largest gold and jewellery exhibition in the region. The event has been organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The five-day exhibition will bring together global jewellery makers, designers, and gold traders.
Wide Participation from the Industry
This year, more than 500 exhibitors and around 1,800 designers, manufacturers, and jewellery professionals are taking part in the show. The exhibition covers nearly 30,000 square metres and features exclusive collections of luxury watches, gold, diamonds, and precious stones. It is considered a global meeting point for the jewellery sector.
Unique Highlight at the Show
One of the biggest highlights of the exhibition is Al Romaizan Gold and Jewellery’s Dubai Dress. This dress has received a Guinness World Records certificate as the heaviest pure 21-carat gold dress in the world. The dress weighs more than 10 kilograms and has an estimated value of AED 4.6 million. It has attracted wide attention from visitors and industry experts.
Emirati Goldsmiths Platform
The Emirati Goldsmiths Platform is also an important part of the exhibition. It showcases the talent of local designers who bring forward unique heritage-inspired designs. These creations combine traditional craftsmanship with cultural authenticity, highlighting the UAE’s artistic skills in jewellery making. The platform aims to encourage national talent to compete globally.
Remarks from the Leadership
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Expo Centre Sharjah, spoke at the opening. He said that the event strengthens the UAE’s position in the global gold and jewellery trade. He also added that it gives Emirati designers the opportunity to innovate and showcase their abilities on an international stage.
Importance for Global Brands
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, also addressed the importance of the event. He noted that the exhibition provides a premier platform for international jewellery brands. It allows them to launch new collections, increase their presence in the Middle East market, and explore potential investment opportunities.

This edition of the show has witnessed strong international participation. Exhibitors from over 20 countries are showcasing their collections. New participants from Australia, Myanmar, and Pakistan are joining for the first time. Alongside them, leading jewellery brands from Italy, India, Türkiye, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia are also taking part. This mix of global and regional participation adds more value to the exhibition.
Exhibition Schedule and Timings
The Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show will run until the 28th of September. Visitors can attend the exhibition from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Friday, the show will open from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The exhibition is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across the UAE and beyond.
