A variety of exciting new advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) were showcased during a Business Breakfast event hosted by the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park). Held under the theme “Born in Sharjah, Built for the World,” the event highlighted Sharjah’s rising influence in global innovation.
Experts and professionals from top companies like Al Hathboor Bikal, Nvidia, HP, and Qamia came together to talk about the future of AI and quantum computing. They shared ideas and gave examples of how cutting-edge technologies are being developed at SRTI Park.
One of the main topics presented was the AI Factory, which is a comprehensive framework that helps manage the entire process of developing and deploying AI products. It uses machine learning to help organisations make better decisions and enhance their operations.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, spoke about the UAE’s goal of becoming a global leader in AI. He said events like this are meant to show how far Sharjah has come in creating world-class innovations. He also talked about connecting these tech companies with investors and attracting more startups in areas like healthcare, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, mobility, and transport.
The speakers explained that three components are required to construct a successful AI factory: people, technology, and a robust economic framework. They highlighted the importance of collaboration among data scientists, product managers, and business leaders.
They also discussed the technical side of an AI factory, including the need for data centres, intelligent computing systems, orchestration platforms, and machine learning operations tools. A key point was helping startups grow beyond their home market by using these advanced technologies to reach global customers.
One of the top innovations showcased was Dialog XR, a smart chatbot created by Al Hathboor Bikal using Large Language Model (LLM) technology, and built entirely within SRTI Park. This chatbot can be used in many areas of a business to help with communication and boost performance.
To wrap up the event, guests were taken on a tour of the SRTI Park facilities, including the Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SoiLab), and were introduced to the park’s resources and support system for innovators and tech startups.
