Over 6,000 Attend Abu Dhabi’s Where Life Pulses Event in Al Ain

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi successfully organized its second "Where Life Pulses" event at Zakher Park in Al Ain, bringing together over 6,000 attendees and underscoring the significance of family engagement and community involvement.

Focusing on cultivating vibrant social environments, the event aimed to empower youth by activating residential neighborhoods. Families, young entrepreneurs, officials, and community members participated in a lively array of educational, cultural, and entertainment offerings.

Attendees included prominent figures such as His Excellency Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, alongside His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Secretary General of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, and various representatives from partnering organizations.

The variety of activities was impressive, featuring youth-led business showcases, interactive games, live performances, and culinary experiences. Attendees participated in over 12 workshops, which included coffee painting, canvas art, bracelet making, clay modeling, origami, and tote bag painting.

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi also contributed through the Proud of the UAE initiative, with activities focusing on Arabic calligraphy, traditional crafts, decoupage, and art inspired by nature. This program aimed at reinforcing national identity and Emirati values among participants.

Fun activities such as bubble shows, face painting, balloon art, and family-friendly games like Jenga, hopscotch, and labyrinth challenges encouraged bonding and community connection.

Fatema Abdulrahman Al Hosani, Director of Social Cohesion at the Department of Community Development, highlighted the impressive turnout and community engagement as testaments to the initiative's success in fostering strong family and social networks. She stated that the program empowers youth by offering platforms for showcasing their entrepreneurial ideas while deepening their ties to Emirati culture.

This successful activation was made possible through collaborations with numerous Abu Dhabi governmental bodies. The Department of Municipalities and Transport and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge supported community and student interactions, while the Department of Economic Development provided young entrepreneurs with necessary licensing assistance. The Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority also played a part in integrating beneficiaries into business ventures.

Funding was provided by the Authority of Social Contribution - Ma’an, and strategic support came from the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC), along with contributions from various partners. The event featured platforms for the Madeem initiative and the Emirati Family Growth Program.

Looking ahead, the Department of Community Development confirmed that the "Where Life Pulses" initiative will be extended across various residential areas in Abu Dhabi until 2026. Each future activation will cater activities to the local community's identity and interests, fostering greater participation.
