Washington, D.C. – Amid mounting criticism regarding President Donald Trump's past ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the White House has strongly defended the president, emphasizing that he “did nothing wrong” and severed connections with the disgraced financier long before his arrest.
On Wednesday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the media following the release of emails from Democratic lawmakers suggesting Trump may have been aware of Epstein’s abuse of minors.
“Jeffrey Epstein was expelled from Mar-a-Lago by President Trump because he was a pedophile and a creep,” stated Leavitt. “These emails do not prove anything except that President Trump acted correctly.”
Epstein, whose network included many prominent individuals, was convicted of sex crimes and was found dead in 2019 while awaiting trial for federal sex trafficking charges. His connections with notable figures like Trump and former President Bill Clinton have fueled ongoing public scrutiny.
The resurfaced emails reportedly reference Trump's dealings with Epstein and one of his victims, although there is no evidence linking Trump to any unlawful conduct. The White House characterized the claims as “politically motivated” and reiterated that Trump distanced himself from Epstein years ago.
Reports suggest Trump expelled Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago resort following complaints regarding Epstein's behavior towards staff and young women. Leavitt highlighted this incident as evidence of Trump’s commitment to combating Epstein’s misconduct.
Political analysts indicate that the revival of Epstein-related discussions may be a strategy to undermine Trump’s credibility as the 2026 election draws closer. Nevertheless, Trump's team maintains that this controversy will not significantly affect his voter support.
This statement serves as one of the most robust public defenses of Trump concerning his connection to Epstein, illustrating the administration’s aim to dissociate the president from the disgraced financier.
