New Wonderland City Opens at Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority, officially opened the new Wonderland Entertainment City in Al Wathba. He was joined by Hamid Saeed Al Neyadi and several officials during the inauguration. Sheikh Zayed toured the entire venue and reviewed the latest entertainment features designed with modern technology to create a fully equipped family-friendly destination. He praised the project as an impressive new addition to the Sheikh Zayed Festival.

The Higher Committee of the festival confirmed that Wonderland began welcoming visitors on December 5, following the completion of all arrangements. It is one of the major new zones introduced for the 2025–2026 edition, offering a wider range of recreational options for families and tourists. The entertainment city covers a large area and has bright walkways, seating spaces, and easy access from the main festival plaza, making it a key highlight of the visitor experience.

Wonderland offers attractions suitable for all age groups, including a roller coaster, ice skating rink, haunted house, mirror maze, dinosaur park, bumper cars, archery zone, skill games, Net Maze, pony rides, and an electronic gaming hall. It also features a dedicated bowling area with advanced lanes for adults and a colorful bowling hall for children. These facilities aim to provide a fun and safe environment where families can enjoy shared activities and friendly competitions.

All attractions in Wonderland were developed following strict safety and quality standards. Specialised teams manage operations, guide visitors, and ensure smooth movement throughout the entertainment area. Pathways, cafés, and snack stalls are placed strategically to support an enjoyable and convenient visit. According to the Higher Committee, the launch of Wonderland is part of a wider plan to expand entertainment choices for festival guests through new zones and innovative experiences that appeal to families, youth, and children. This addition further strengthens the festival’s role as a leading cultural and leisure destination that brings together heritage, arts, culture, and entertainment.

The Sheikh Zayed Festival receives visitors daily from 4 pm to midnight, and from 4 pm to 1 am on weekends and public holidays. Wonderland remains open throughout the festival’s full operating hours at Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, offering a complete family entertainment experience for guests from the UAE and beyond.
