Under the guidance of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, the emirate has launched an upgraded model for the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP).
This revamped framework is set to foster a culture of excellence and innovation, encouraging continuous improvement across government bodies. The goal is to enhance teamwork, integration, and coordination within a cohesive government structure, ultimately driving sustainability and elevating residents' quality of life.
The modified ADAEP model incorporates a thorough, multi-stage evaluation system that critically examines the initiatives and projects of participating organizations. This structured process guarantees transparency and emphasizes the award's mission to enhance public sector effectiveness.
Drawing from extensive expertise and advanced research, the model empowers government entities to uplift their operational standards. It advocates for the use of cutting-edge technologies and fosters a cooperative atmosphere that promises a positive long-term impact on the community.
In alignment with Abu Dhabi's vision for digital transformation, this ADAEP cycle integrates artificial intelligence throughout the evaluation process. This includes the application of advanced tools like the AI Consultant, AI Juror, and AI Grand Jury Assistant, ensuring accurate data analysis and unbiased insights for informed decision-making.
Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince, reiterated that a commitment to excellence is fundamental to Abu Dhabi's governance. He noted that this award framework enhances accountability, encourages continuous advancement, and reinforces collaboration among various government sectors to deliver real benefits to society.
Currently, 37 government entities and 103 initiatives are under evaluation by over 90 experts from both local and international backgrounds. A distinguished grand jury, consisting of leaders from public and private spheres, oversees the final evaluation process.
The awards feature two main tracks with six categories, including three excellence awards for high-achieving entities and three initiative-based awards focusing on strategic impact, digital and AI innovation, and contributions to community and family.
The evaluation process comprises multiple layers, starting with independent assessments bolstered by AI tools to ensure precision. Quality assurance teams review the results before they are further scrutinized by evaluation committees, culminating in final approval by the grand jury for a comprehensive assessment.
The official ADAEP awards ceremony is set for April 2026, where accolades will be bestowed on the winning entities and initiatives for their pivotal role in enhancing Abu Dhabi's governmental ecosystem and public service excellence.
