Arab Parliament President Welcomes Gaza Peace Summit Outcome

Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yammahi, President of the Arab Parliament, welcomed the results of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, where the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement was signed. He described the summit as a renewed source of hope for ending the ongoing tragedy in Gaza and bringing relief to the affected population.

A Historic Step Toward Peace

Al Yammahi affirmed that the ceasefire agreement represents a historic step toward ending the war in Gaza. He highlighted that it establishes a pathway to peace, helps alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, and closes a painful chapter in human history that has affected the region for years.

Egypt’s Pivotal Role

The Arab Parliament President commended Egypt for its crucial role in hosting and sponsoring the summit. He noted that Egypt led intensive political and diplomatic efforts that culminated in the ceasefire agreement. Al Yammahi emphasized that Egypt has always supported the Palestinian cause and continues to defend the rights of the Palestinian people in regional and international forums.

Support from the United States

Al Yammahi also praised the efforts of the United States of America in ensuring the success of the agreement. He highlighted the U.S.’s role in supporting regional initiatives to achieve the ceasefire and facilitate the unrestricted entry of humanitarian and relief aid into Gaza, helping address the urgent needs of the population.

Contributions of Other Leaders

The Arab Parliament President recognized the active participation of Qatar, Türkiye, and other regional and international leaders who contributed to the success of the summit. He emphasized that their cooperation was essential in bringing about a meaningful and lasting ceasefire agreement.

Al Yammahi stressed that the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit marks a turning point in international efforts to end the war in Gaza. He described it as a living model of Arab and international collaboration, aimed at achieving peace, stability, and security in the region.
