Today, Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held two important farewell meetings. These meetings were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The purpose of these meetings was to say goodbye and show appreciation to the ambassadors of Lebanon and Egypt, who are now finishing their official duties in Oman.
Thanking Lebanon’s Ambassador for His Service
The first meeting was with Albert Samaha, the Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Oman. His diplomatic mission in Oman has now come to an end. The Foreign Minister welcomed him warmly and thanked him for all his efforts during his time in the country.
Helping to Build Stronger Relations
Sayyid Badr praised Ambassador Samaha for his valuable work in building stronger cooperation and friendship between Oman and Lebanon. These two countries already have close ties, and the ambassador helped make these ties even stronger. He worked hard to create understanding and promote goodwill between the two nations.
Oman Values Positive Diplomatic Efforts
During the meeting, Sayyid Badr clearly showed how much Oman appreciates the positive role that Ambassador Samaha played. The Foreign Minister said that his work helped bring the people of both countries closer together and made their official relations better and more productive.
Wishing Him Well for the Future
After thanking him, Sayyid Badr also wished Ambassador Samaha great success in the future. He said that he hoped the ambassador’s next assignment would bring him more achievements and personal happiness. The meeting ended on a warm and respectful note.
Why This Meeting Was Meaningful
This meeting was not just a goodbye. It was a sign of real appreciation and respect. It showed how much Oman values the efforts of diplomats who come to work and help improve international relations. People like Ambassador Samaha help to create peace, trust, and friendly cooperation between nations.
Farewell Meeting with Egypt’s Ambassador
Later that same day, Sayyid Badr also held a farewell meeting with Khalid Mohammed Abdul Halim, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Oman. Like his Lebanese counterpart, the Egyptian ambassador is also finishing his time in Oman and moving on to new assignments.
Recognizing His Valuable Role
Sayyid Badr expressed deep gratitude to Ambassador Abdul Halim for his hard work in enhancing the friendship between Oman and Egypt. He said that the ambassador had made important and visible contributions to bilateral cooperation during his time in the country.
Long-Standing Friendship Between Oman and Egypt
Oman and Egypt share a long history of close and respectful relations. These two countries often work together on matters related to politics, education, culture, and trade. The ambassador helped to continue this strong partnership by improving communication and cooperation between the two sides.
A True Diplomat Who Made a Difference
The Foreign Minister noted that Ambassador Abdul Halim had always worked with professionalism and dedication. He also praised his positive attitude and the respectful way he handled diplomatic duties. Oman was happy to have him as a representative of Egypt.
Sending Good Wishes for the Road Ahead
Just like with the Lebanese ambassador, Sayyid Badr wished the Egyptian ambassador all the best for the future. He hoped that his next diplomatic mission—or any other path he chooses—would be successful and fulfilling. Oman appreciated everything he did during his stay.
Ambassadors Are Key to Peace and Cooperation
These farewell meetings highlight how important ambassadors are. They play a major role in building friendships between countries. They help countries understand each other better, solve problems peacefully, and work together for progress.
Diplomacy Is Not Just Formal Work
Many people think diplomacy is just about meetings and paperwork. But it's much more than that. It's about human connection. It’s about building trust and mutual respect. When ambassadors like Samaha and Abdul Halim do their job well, they help create peace and harmony.
Arab Unity Is a Core Value for Oman
Oman is a country that always supports Arab unity and brotherhood. By holding these warm farewell meetings, Oman is showing the world that it values relationships with other Arab countries. This is part of Oman’s larger goal to maintain strong, peaceful, and respectful ties in the region.
Support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The farewell meetings were also attended by Sheikh Omar bin Faisal Al Marhoon, who is the Head of the Arab Department at the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His presence showed the importance Oman gives to Arab diplomatic relations and the farewell of these ambassadors.
New Ambassadors Will Continue the Journey
As the Lebanese and Egyptian ambassadors leave Oman, new ambassadors will soon take their place. These new diplomats will continue the work started by their predecessors. They will focus on strengthening cooperation and building friendships even further.
Oman’s Commitment to Peace and Dialogue
Oman has always supported peace, diplomacy, and understanding. Under the leadership of Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr, the country continues to promote peaceful dialogue and international cooperation. These farewell meetings are just one small part of that larger effort.
Farewell Is Not the End – It’s a New Beginning
While these meetings marked the end of the current ambassadors’ work in Oman, they also represent the beginning of new opportunities. The friendships that were built during their time here will continue to grow, and the people of Oman will always remember their contributions.
A Message of Gratitude and Friendship
These farewell meetings may seem like simple events, but they carry a deep and powerful message. They show Oman’s belief in kindness, respect, and the power of human connection. They also show that diplomacy—when done with sincerity—can truly bring people and nations closer.
