Amruta Fadnavis Addresses Outfit Criticism During Beach Cleanup

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

Amruta Fadnavis, the spouse of Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, spoke out regarding the negative online comments about her clothing choices. This discussion took place during a recent interview on Curly Tales’ YouTube channel on November 9, following her attire being scrutinized during a beach cleanup event in Mumbai.

The cleanup, named Sea Shore Shine 2025, occurred at Juhu Beach after the Ganesh Visarjan festival, aiming to remove waste and promote awareness about beach cleanliness. Amruta was joined by actor Akshay Kumar along with numerous volunteers and environmental advocacy groups.

However, attention quickly shifted from the initiative to her outfit, which some criticized as resembling gym gear and being “too form-fitting” for the occasion. Instead of applauding her involvement in the cleanup, social media was rife with comments about her fashion choice.

In addressing the trolling, Amruta acknowledged that she has faced online criticism before. She expressed that while some remarks affected her feelings, they primarily detracted from the important message and mission of the event. The focus was meant to center on raising consciousness regarding pollution, waste, and cleanliness, an objective she pursued diligently with fellow participants.

Amruta emphasized that actions should be valued more than appearances. She urged everyone to concentrate on the positive impact of the campaign and its transformative potential. Despite initial discomfort from the comments, she resolved to maintain her focus and continue her work resiliently.

She shared a lesson from her experience: while criticism may arise, remaining true to one's ambitions is vital. She believes that consistency and commitment often resonate far louder than any negative feedback online.

This situation highlights a broader issue of how public figures, particularly women, can face disproportionate judgment based on their looks rather than their contributions. Amruta’s reaction underscores the importance of recognizing genuine efforts in social initiatives rather than fixating on outward appearances.
