Post by : Shakul

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurated the 52nd edition of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition at the Bahrain National Museum. The exhibition stands as one of the Kingdom’s most prominent cultural events, celebrating over five decades of artistic creativity.

During the inauguration, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman stressed that art plays a vital role in expressing national identity and celebrating cultural diversity. He noted that the continuous development of Bahrain’s art sector is supported by the vision of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, helping position Bahrain as a leading regional centre for arts and culture.

His Highness toured the exhibition, which showcases works by around 74 Bahraini visual artists representing diverse schools, styles, and mediums. The displayed works include multimedia art, video installations, photography, sculpture, and contemporary visual expressions, reflecting the Kingdom’s rich artistic heritage and modern creative direction.

For his part, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting cultural initiatives. He highlighted the exhibition as a key platform that brings together emerging, contemporary, and pioneering artists, while strengthening Bahrain’s regional and international cultural standing.

Awards were presented during the opening ceremony to honour outstanding artistic contributions, along with announcements of solo exhibition opportunities. Several senior officials, artists, and cultural figures attended the event, underlining the exhibition’s importance within Bahrain’s cultural calendar.
