Bollywood stalwart Dharmendra breathed his last on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89. His passing comes just two weeks after he was discharged from the hospital following health complications. This news has plunged fans, fellow actors, and the entire entertainment fraternity into a state of grief.
Affectionately nicknamed the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, Dharmendra was cherished for his energetic roles and magnetic charm that won hearts across generations. Throughout his illustrious career spanning over six decades, he graced numerous films that remain etched in the memories of cinemagoers.
A plethora of Bollywood personalities and close acquaintances took to social media to express their sorrow. Comedian Kapil Sharma commented:
"Farewell Dharam Paaji. Your departure saddens me deeply, feeling as though I've lost my father again. Your love and blessings will forever reside in my heart. You had a unique ability to connect with people, and this was your greatest strength. You will always hold a special place in our hearts."
Akshay Kumar shared a nostalgic image with Dharmendra, stating:
"In my youth, Dharmendra Ji represented the ultimate hero that every boy aspired to be… our industry’s original He-Man. Thank you for your inspiration that spans generations. Your legacy will live on through your movies and the affection you've shared. Om Shanti."
Noteworthy films in Dharmendra's repertoire include Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Jani, Jugnu, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dost, Sholay, Pratiggya, and Dharam Veer, among others. His performances were defined by a blend of charisma, passion, and adaptability, establishing him as one of Bollywood’s cherished actors.
