A woman in Brisbane, Australia, faced a shocking situation when she woke up to discover a massive carpet python atop her while she slept.
Rachel Bloor initially thought the heavy weight pressing on her stomach was her labradoodle. However, when she sensed movement, she realized it was a snake. In an interview with ABC News, she recounted how she instantly woke her husband to turn on the lights.
When the lights came on, her husband spotted the sizable carpet python, approximately two and a half metres long, coiled on the bed. He calmly advised her to remain still and first ensured their pet dogs were removed from the bedroom, leaving Ms. Bloor alone with the snake.
From a distance, her husband instructed her to cautiously crawl out from underneath the blankets. Ms. Bloor managed to sidle off the bed safely and helped guide the python out through a window without causing it any harm.
Ms. Bloor suspects that the snake slithered up to the second floor of their home, opened a plantation shutter, and eventually found its way onto the bed.
Having grown up on a sizable property, she noted that she wasn't afraid of snakes and humorously mentioned that she was just relieved it wasn't a toad, as those frighten her more than snakes.
