His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, held a meeting with Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala, to reinforce the bilateral relations between the UAE and Kerala. This official dialogue showcased the steadfast friendship and shared respect linking the two parties.

The discussions centered on expanding collaboration in vital sectors that resonate with the strategic visions of both nations for sustainable growth and development. Key areas of focus included enhancing trade, investment, economic, and developmental relations, building upon the established partnership between India and the UAE.

Sheikh Khaled acknowledged the immense contributions made by the Indian community in the UAE and reaffirmed the country's dedication to nurturing robust relations with India, especially with Kerala, which houses a significant expatriate Indian population.

The talks illuminated potential collaborative projects in areas like healthcare, tourism, energy, innovation, and infrastructure. Both leaders acknowledged the necessity of sustainable development and technological advancements as pivotal elements for future partnerships.

Additionally, Sheikh Khaled and Chief Minister Vijayan explored new cooperative frameworks aimed at bolstering small to medium-sized enterprises, facilitating investments, and fostering knowledge sharing between Abu Dhabi and Kerala.

The dialogue highlighted their collective vision for inclusive economic advancement, stressing the importance of durable partnerships benefitting both communities. Sheikh Khaled remarked that Abu Dhabi's commitment to diversification and sustainable innovation aligns perfectly with Kerala's aspirations for digital advancement, renewable energy, and progressive infrastructure.

Chief Minister Vijayan expressed gratitude towards Abu Dhabi for its commitment to fostering strong ties with Kerala and recognized the UAE as a global beacon for progress and tolerance. He also acknowledged the opportunities provided by UAE's leadership for millions of Keralites working in the Gulf.

Several senior officials were present at this meeting, including:

  • Ahmed Jasem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development;

  • Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council;

  • Maryam Eid AlMheiri, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi Media Office.

Their participation underscores the UAE's endeavor to bolster strategic and institutional collaborations, advancing ongoing initiatives with India.

This meeting stands as a testament to the established partnership between the UAE and India, which continues to evolve across trade, cultural exchange, and energy sectors. India is a key trading partner of the UAE, while the UAE serves as a pivotal hub for Indian investments in the Middle East.

Moreover, the robust people-to-people connections have reinforced this relationship, with over 3.5 million Indians residing in the UAE, many of whom have roots in Kerala, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

Both leaders expressed optimism that their deliberations would unveil new avenues for economic cooperation and sustainable development. Sheikh Khaled reiterated Abu Dhabi’s commitment to seeking new partnership opportunities with Kerala that support mutual developmental goals.

In concluding the meeting, Chief Minister Vijayan emphasized the prospect of opening new investment pathways, employment opportunities, and sharing of technology that which will significantly enhance Kerala's growth and the welfare of its expatriate citizens.

The dialogue concluded with a mutual intention to pursue ongoing cooperation across varied sectors, marking a pivotal step in expanding the UAE's diplomatic engagement with India's states—echoing a broader vision of the UAE leadership to strengthen global partnerships based on mutual respect and shared enrichment.
