Delhi Enhances Security as Putin Prepares for India Visit

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

In preparation for Russian President Vladimir Putin's arrival on Thursday evening for a two-day visit, New Delhi has elevated its security measures to unprecedented levels. The city is now under a comprehensive security framework, with various specialized units collaborating to provide ongoing protection during the Russian leader's visit.

Authorities have kept the precise location of Putin's accommodations confidential, adhering to stringent security protocols. Senior police officials indicated that every aspect of the Russian President's itinerary, from his landing to his departure, will be meticulously monitored by numerous agencies in cooperation. Constant communication flows among the teams, all of which have been directed to maintain peak vigilance.

Over 5,000 police officers have been mobilized throughout Delhi to secure vital routes, regulate traffic, and keep an eye on sensitive locations tied to Putin’s agenda. Senior Delhi Police officials are directly involved in overseeing security measures along routes, sanitizing areas, and planning movements to prevent any oversights. State-of-the-art anti-drone technology and high-security barriers are being set up along the designated paths.

All routes anticipated for VVIP transit have been proactively secured. Traffic advisories will be released at various intervals to alleviate any inconveniences for residents and commuters. The security strategy incorporates SWAT teams, anti-terror squads, sharpshooters, and rapid-response teams stationed at critical junctures.

The collaboration between Delhi Police, central intelligence agencies, and Putin's personal security contingent has established a robust, multi-layered security structure. High-definition CCTV cameras, surveillance technologies, and real-time monitoring systems are operational across multiple sectors to identify any suspicious behaviors.

Officials have signaled that some locations might experience temporary traffic limits and restricted pedestrian access during the visit. However, they promised that all advisories would be communicated well in advance to prevent significant disruptions throughout the city.

Putin's visit is poised to be one of the most closely observed diplomatic events of the year, with heightened security measures underscoring the importance of the India-Russia talks.
