Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has commended the performance of Dubai's aviation sector, emphasizing its crucial role in linking global markets and bolstering the world economy. He noted the sector's steady growth aligns with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Praising the teams at Dubai International Airport (DXB) for their commitment and effectiveness, he acknowledged the airport's leadership under Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who also oversees Dubai's civil aviation authority and Emirates Airline Group.
During a recent airport visit, Sheikh Hamdan assessed passenger services, including those provided by Emirates Airline. He also toured the Dubai Police operations center, receiving updates on security protocols and smart technologies used to ensure traveler safety and smooth operations.
Officials elaborated on the enhancements being made, emphasizing advanced technology aimed at boosting efficiency, expediting processes, and elevating passenger comfort. Innovative systems have been designed to manage passenger flow seamlessly.
Sheikh Hamdan expressed his pride in the personnel at Dubai Airports, Emirates, and flydubai. He noted that the aviation ecosystem consistently upholds high safety and operational standards, even amid fluctuating global conditions.
He remarked that Dubai Airports plays a pivotal role in driving the city's economic progress and enhancing its status as a global hub. Looking ahead, future expansion efforts will center on innovation, infrastructure, and skilled talent to further elevate Dubai's global connectivity.
During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan also assessed operations at Emirates Airline and hailed its contribution to Dubai's global connectivity. The airline presently covers 123 destinations across 65 nations, strengthening Dubai’s role in international aviation. He praised the professionalism of the airline’s crew for their exceptional service standards.
He received a briefing on the airline's Network Operations Control Centre, which employs cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and real-time mapping, to monitor flights, weather conditions, and global events, ensuring timely operations and efficient cargo transport.
In 2025, Dubai International Airport achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 95 million passengers and maintaining its title as the world’s busiest international airport for the twelfth consecutive year. Total flight movements reached 454,800, reflecting a 3.3% increase from the previous year, demonstrating sustained growth in capacity and global connectivity.
