Dubai has officially unveiled the second edition of its National Month campaign. The celebrations will run from 3 November to 2 December 2025 and include a wide variety of cultural and community events across the city. The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Marking National Occasions Together
The National Month campaign has been scheduled to coincide with two of the UAE’s most significant national occasions—Flag Day and Eid Al Etihad, the UAE’s National Day. These events serve as moments of pride and unity for the nation. Sheikh Ahmed highlighted that the initiative reflects loyalty, belonging, and the collective aspirations of both citizens and residents.
Celebrating Unity and Belonging
In his statement, Sheikh Ahmed explained that the campaign represents a shared effort to celebrate national occasions in a unified way. He said the initiative would demonstrate solidarity and strengthen the values of unity that bind the UAE together. The month-long celebrations will also create opportunities for people of all backgrounds to actively take part in the festivities.
As part of the campaign, the #ZayedAndRashid initiative will continue for a second year. This programme honours the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, two visionary leaders whose work shaped the foundation of the UAE’s growth. Last year, the initiative achieved over 2 billion interactions on social media, showing the deep appreciation and respect the people hold for these leaders.
Expanding on Last Year’s Success
Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, praised the success of the inaugural National Month campaign in 2024. She noted that over 200 organisations participated last year and said this year’s edition is expected to see much wider involvement. According to her, the campaign gives the community an important platform to express their love for the UAE and their pride in its achievements.
Planning and Coordination Underway
Preparations for National Month 2025 are already in progress, with Brand Dubai leading the coordination efforts. Events will take place across different parts of Dubai, ensuring inclusivity. The programme will feature cultural, national, and community-focused activities, giving opportunities for everyone from schools and families to businesses and entrepreneurs to participate.
A Platform for Creativity
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said that this year’s celebrations are also designed to encourage creativity. She explained that content creators and partners are being engaged to make events more interactive and meaningful. Additionally, small businesses and entrepreneurs from the Proudly from Dubai network will have the chance to showcase their work to wider audiences, boosting both exposure and opportunity.
A Unified Celebration of Identity
The National Month campaign was first introduced in 2024 to bring together all celebrations of national occasions under one programme. This coordinated approach ensures that the celebrations are not only unified but also impactful. Extending the initiative into its second year reflects Dubai’s commitment to strengthening national identity and creating platforms for meaningful engagement.
From Flag Day to National Day
The campaign will begin on Flag Day, a symbolic occasion when flags are raised across the country to represent loyalty and unity. It will then continue through November with cultural and community activities before concluding on 2 December, which marks the UAE’s 54th National Day. The closing celebrations are expected to be larger and more inclusive than those of the previous year.
Building a Stronger Sense of Pride
By combining the efforts of government, semi-government, and private organisations, Dubai aims to create an atmosphere of unity and pride throughout the National Month campaign. The organisers believe that the initiative will not only showcase the nation’s achievements but also bring people closer together in celebrating shared values and aspirations for the future.
