At the London premiere on Tuesday, Walton Goggins expressed, "You can take one of two paths. You can play it safe, stick with season one, or go all out. We chose to go all out."
This live-action series, inspired by the renowned video game franchise, centers on three lead characters: ex-vault dweller Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus from the Brotherhood of Steel (Aaron Moten), and Cooper Howard—known as The Ghoul (Goggins), a mutated former actor turned bounty hunter.
The second season resumes from where the first concluded, depicting Lucy's quest for her father, Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), as she allies with The Ghoul for a perilous expedition across the Mojave Desert towards New Vegas.
Executive producer Jonathan Nolan hinted, "Expect more chaos, more laughter, and more action. We aim to surpass our previous efforts."
Ella Purnell revealed audiences will discover a different aspect of Lucy, whose previously optimistic demeanor now contrasts with The Ghoul's stark nihilism. "In the wasteland, survival doesn't always align with being kind," Purnell remarked.
The season introduces Justin Theroux as Robert House, the formidable ruler of New Vegas, and a key figure within the franchise. "It's a bit daunting," Theroux shared. "The fans of both the game and the show are like stakeholders—you want to meet their expectations."
Joining the ensemble are Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani, along with an array of new creatures brought to life by talented puppeteers.
Fallout's eight-episode second season launches on Prime Video on December 17, with new episodes rolling out weekly.
