A devastating accident unfolded on the Delhi-Agra Expressway near Mathura on Tuesday morning, due to thick fog significantly impairing visibility. The incident involved a collision between seven buses and three cars, resulting in four fatalities and injuring 25 others amid the chaos.
The collision sparked fires in several vehicles, causing alarm among those on board. Emergency responders, including local authorities, fire services, and medical personnel, rapidly arrived to assist.
Police officials reported that rescue and relief work is currently ongoing, ensuring that all affected are receiving medical attention. Fortunately, none of the admitted patients are in critical condition. Arrangements are being made for safe transportation of stranded passengers to their homes.
District authorities characterized the crash as "deeply regrettable" and have prioritized relief efforts and the prompt medical care of the injured.
This accident follows another tragic multi-vehicle incident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway just a day prior, also exacerbated by heavy fog, resulting in multiple casualties.
Authorities have assured that a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the Mathura collision will follow the completion of relief operations, with all governmental resources currently mobilized to support those affected.
