The meeting took place in Kuwait, marking another step in the GCC’s commitment to strengthening defence collaboration and regional security.

The meeting focused on enhancing joint defence strategies and coordination among the armed forces of GCC nations. It served as a platform for discussing shared security challenges and exploring ways to achieve greater military unity within the Gulf region. The Chiefs of Staff reaffirmed their collective responsibility to safeguard stability and peace in the Arabian Gulf, emphasizing that cooperation remains a central pillar of the GCC’s defence policy.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress made in previous GCC defence initiatives. They discussed frameworks for joint military exercises, intelligence exchange, and unified defence planning. The Chiefs highlighted the importance of aligning military systems and command structures to ensure rapid coordination in case of regional threats or emergencies. The shared vision is to build an integrated GCC defence network capable of responding to modern challenges effectively.

Lieutenant General Al Mazrouei reiterated the UAE’s strong commitment to the collective security of GCC nations. He emphasized that the UAE views regional military cooperation as essential for stability and peace in the Gulf. He praised the ongoing efforts of GCC member states in maintaining military readiness and encouraged continued coordination in developing advanced defence capabilities.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of developing joint training programs and adopting new technologies in defence. The Chiefs of Staff agreed on the need to modernize military systems through innovation and the use of emerging technologies, such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. They recognized that future conflicts may require more adaptable and technology-driven defence approaches.

Kuwait, which hosted the 22nd session, played a key role in facilitating open dialogue and promoting collaboration among the GCC member states. The hosting officials expressed pride in supporting initiatives that enhance military integration. The meeting concluded with all parties reaffirming their dedication to unity, peace, and mutual defence preparedness.

The Chiefs of Staff also discussed humanitarian cooperation, peacekeeping efforts, and coordination during natural disasters, highlighting the wider role of military forces beyond combat duties. They stressed the importance of sharing experience and expertise to ensure rapid, coordinated responses during crises affecting any member country.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to continue strengthening strategic partnerships and joint operations across the GCC. The Chiefs of Staff agreed to follow up on the implementation of defence integration plans and to hold more frequent consultations to evaluate progress. The UAE delegation expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its warm hospitality and successful hosting of the event.

The 22nd GCC Supreme Military Committee meeting reaffirmed the shared goal of building a secure, stable, and united Gulf region. With continued support from leaders and military institutions, GCC nations aim to establish a comprehensive joint defence framework that can effectively protect the region from emerging threats while fostering peace and prosperity.
