Morning Superseeds Advisory from Fortis Hospital Dietician

Morning Superseeds Advisory from Fortis Hospital Dietician

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

As more individuals seek healthier ways to start their mornings, seeds have gained immense popularity. Though tiny, these seeds are packed with essential nutrients. Many people incorporate them into their oatmeal, smoothies, or consume them with water on an empty stomach. However, with the variety of seeds available, selecting the right type can be daunting. To simplify this process, senior clinical nutritionist Kanchan Khurana from Fortis Hospital in Greater Noida has shared some invaluable insights.

Khurana emphasized that before considering any seed, the initial step every morning should be hydration. Consuming a plain glass of water, either warm or at room temperature, should be the first action of the day. This helps to awaken your system and readies your stomach for nourishment.

When it comes to identifying the ideal seed for a morning regimen, the dietician clarifies that there is no universal answer. Different seeds cater to various health needs. The selection must align with the individual's specific body requirements, as there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. For instance, certain seeds may aid digestion while others target weight management, skin health, or energy levels. This highlights the importance of personalized routines over blindly imitating others.

The dietician also cautioned against the prevalent social media trend surrounding superseeds. People often experiment with chia seeds, flaxseeds, or jeera water just because they see them popularized online. However, following someone else's routine without acknowledging one's own health concerns can lead to adverse effects. What benefits one person may not be suitable for another, and in some cases, it might exacerbate health conditions.

She encouraged individuals to take time to assess their personal health concerns before selecting any seeds. For instance, a person with acidity might require a different seed than someone tackling constipation. Similarly, individuals aiming to manage blood sugar or reduce inflammation may need tailored options. This self-reflection is critical, as the appropriate seed hinges on what the body needs.

Khurana acknowledged that while superseeds hold significant health potential, their selection must be approached thoughtfully. Identifying the specific health issues you'd like to address is crucial. Following this, choosing the right seed and consulting with a nutrition expert, when feasible, ensures that the decisions made are both safe and beneficial.

Given the current trendiness of seeds, there’s a tendency for people to jump on the bandwagon. Yet, the expert reminds us that trends do not equate to health. Your personal health requirements should always take precedence over viral videos or social media fitness influencers. Selecting the appropriate seeds for your morning routine can enhance digestion, energy, immunity, and overall wellness, but it must align with your unique health needs.

Ultimately, the takeaway is clear: while seeds can be beneficial, each type serves a specific purpose. Start with hydration, tune in to your body’s signals, and make informed decisions. A careful selection can lead to healthier mornings and a more balanced day.
