INNOVEX 2025 Opens With New Student Engineering Innovations

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

A special exhibition named INNOVEX 2025 opened today at the Liwa Science and Innovation Centre in the Governorate of North Al Batinah. The event has been organised by Shinas Vocational College and is designed mainly for students from different colleges and universities. The exhibition aims to give young people a chance to explore new engineering ideas and understand how technology is shaping the future.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, the Governor of North Al Batinah. Many officials, academics, and students attended the event to learn about the various engineering projects displayed by participants.

INNOVEX 2025 has become an important platform for students who want to present their creative engineering skills. A total of 22 projects are showcased this year, all of which highlight new solutions inspired by modern technology. The goal of the exhibition is to encourage students to think creatively, solve real-world problems, and build a strong connection between education and innovation.

Students participating in the event used engineering tools and modern technology to develop ideas that can benefit different sectors in Oman. Their projects reflect the growing interest in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable living.

One of the main themes of the exhibition is sustainability. Many projects explore engineering solutions that help protect the environment. These ideas include using natural resources wisely, reducing waste, and minimising pollution. Some teams worked on systems that save water, while others created models that show how energy consumption can be reduced in homes and industries.

These sustainability-based projects are important at a time when the world is working hard to address climate change. Students used engineering knowledge to design solutions that can support long-term environmental goals.

Another key area of the exhibition is renewable energy. Several projects focus on clean energy sources such as solar power and wind energy. Students demonstrated how solar panels can be used more effectively, and some displayed wind turbine models that produce energy at low cost. These projects show how Oman can benefit from natural energy sources and reduce reliance on non-renewable fuels.

The exhibition also highlights the fast-growing world of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). Students presented projects that use smart systems to improve daily life. These ideas include intelligent home devices, automated farming tools, and smart transportation systems. Some projects show how AI can help in agriculture, such as monitoring soil health or improving crop production.

By combining AI with IoT technology, students developed solutions that can make different sectors more efficient. These innovations show how future technology can support economic development and improve quality of life.

INNOVEX 2025 provides students with the opportunity to share their ideas publicly, gain experience, and receive feedback from experts. Many visitors praised the projects for their creativity and practical value. The exhibition also motivates young people to continue working on their engineering skills and contribute to Oman’s development.

Shinas Vocational College hopes that this event will inspire more students to explore scientific research, engineering studies, and innovation. The exhibition will remain open for visitors, allowing the public to learn about the latest ideas created by young talent.
