Milind Soman, the celebrated model and fitness advocate, recently celebrated his 60th birthday, proving that age is merely a mindset. He articulated that fitness transcends mere physicality, emphasizing that it is fundamentally about one’s attitude and daily choices. According to Milind, a person's youthfulness is determined by their perspective rather than their appearance.
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, he stated, “Your age is defined by your mindset, not your physique.” Milind pointed out that he has observed young individuals who seem exhausted and older individuals who awaken eager for adventure. He believes that life is not about halting the clock but embracing each moment with enthusiasm and intention.
Milind is famed for undertaking intense physical feats, having completed the Ironman challenge at 50, dubbed one of the toughest fitness endeavors globally, and repeating it at the age of 60. He recently also achieved remarkable success by participating in the #FitIndianRun challenge, a rigorous 330-kilometer run and cycle trek through mountainous terrains.
He remarked that his initial Ironman attempt was a test of his resolve, whereas the repeat at 60 emphasized a harmonious balance between mind, body, discipline, and consistency. Milind asserts that it isn't age that hinders one's pace but rather a deficiency in discipline.
His dietary regimen is straightforward and health-focused. Previously, he disclosed that his mornings start with fruits, complemented by simple vegetarian meals for lunch and dinner. Milind avoids meat due to its digestibility challenges and believes that wholesome and natural foods enhance bodily strength.
Milind also draws inspiration from actor Shah Rukh Khan, who at 60, remains vibrant and accomplished. He observes that today’s society increasingly perceives age as just a number, emphasizing the importance of health and enriching life experiences.
For Milind, the essence of youth lies in effortlessly conquering challenging yet simple activities such as running barefoot, swimming long distances, or scaling hills. His vision extends beyond mere aesthetics; it's about feeling liberated and vibrant in one’s body.
