In Al Dhafra, the Family Care Authority (FCA) has launched a new Service Centre and Halfway Homes project aimed at promoting social, family, and rehabilitation services throughout Abu Dhabi.
This initiative is designed to increase the accessibility of psychological and social care services for all community members, fostering family stability and overall wellbeing in the Al Dhafra area.
This launch is in line with the National Family Growth Agenda 2031 and supports the UAE Year of Family 2026 initiative, as highlighted by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent officials including His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; His Excellency Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra; and Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director General of the Family Care Authority.
Other attendees included representatives from Abu Dhabi Police, Al Dhafra Region Municipality, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Al Dhafra Hospital, Mubadala, and ADNOC Group.
Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi stated that these new facilities signify the authority’s dedication to offering much-needed family support services across Abu Dhabi, including in remote areas like Al Dhafra.
She emphasized that the expansion is aimed at enhancing family cohesion and ensuring that every family can access adequate support, care, and opportunities for a brighter future.
The Service Centre will offer comprehensive family and social services under the oversight of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi. Services will include counselling, guidance, support for foster care, empowerment programs, awareness campaigns, and supervised visitation.
The Halfway Homes initiative falls under FCA’s Integrated Care Model aimed at rehabilitation and reintegration. It is designed to provide a nurturing environment for those recovering from addiction, aiding their transition to independent living and reintegration into the community.
Through these initiatives, the Family Care Authority endeavors to bolster social stability, enhance family resilience, and improve the overall wellbeing of residents in Al Dhafra.
