Many people reach for medicines when faced with common issues such as acne, hair loss, fatigue or high cholesterol. Nutritionist Khushi Chhabra, who specialises in holistic health, argues that choosing the right foods can strengthen the body’s own repair mechanisms. Mindful eating, she says, supports long-term resilience rather than only masking symptoms.
Chhabra recommends three practical foods for each concern. They are widely accessible, simple to include in daily meals and provide key nutrients that promote recovery and balance. With consistent choices, the body can maintain better equilibrium without excessive dependence on drugs.
For acne-prone skin, she highlights spearmint tea, pumpkin seeds and tomatoes. These items deliver antioxidants and zinc that lower inflammation and help control excess oil, making breakouts less likely and skin recovery smoother.
To combat hair fall, her suggestions are moringa leaves, eggs and black sesame or pumpkin seeds. These foods supply protein, iron, omega-3s and zinc—nutrients that fortify hair follicles, reduce breakage and improve overall hair strength with regular intake.
For people prone to urinary tract infections, she advises coconut water, cranberries combined with amla, and probiotic curd. These support healthy microbial balance, aid urine flow and reduce the ability of harmful bacteria to adhere in the urinary tract.
If low energy is an issue, she recommends bananas, sweet potatoes and a mix of jaggery with roasted chana. These provide slow-release carbohydrates and vitamins that sustain energy levels without the sharp crashes linked to refined sweets.
Her core message is that everyday food choices shape how we feel. Proactive, nourishing eating helps prevent frequent imbalances and supports gradual, gentle healing over time.
Opting for whole, minimally processed foods instead of packaged snacks can improve skin, hair, digestion and energy. Good health, she stresses, grows from daily nourishment and consistent care.
