Operation Sindoor Featured at Republic Day Parade, Showcasing Military Unity

Post by : Meena Hassan

Operation Sindoor, a significant military initiative addressing terrorism backed by Pakistan, was a key highlight at the Republic Day parade held at Kartavya Path for India’s 77th Republic Day.

Titled “Victory Through Jointness,” the Tri-Services tableau demonstrated the integrated efforts and combat readiness of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, embodying the nation’s evolving military strategy focused on joint planning, rapid execution, and technological advancements in warfare.

The tableau visually illustrated vital components of Operation Sindoor, showcasing the Indian Air Force’s precise air strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure, the Indian Navy’s strategic operations for maritime control, and the Indian Army’s ground efforts to eliminate threats.

The operation commenced in the early morning of May 7, with Indian forces conducting coordinated attacks on terrorist camps situated within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, a direct response to a terror assault in Pahalgam that claimed over two dozen lives last year.

A four-day military engagement followed the strikes, during which Pakistan launched missile and aerial assaults on Indian territories; however, these were effectively countered by India’s advanced air defense systems, preventing civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.

On May 10, the operation was halted after Pakistani military officials requested a ceasefire due to escalating losses and unsustainable pressures.

The tableau during the Republic Day celebrations not only honored the achievements of Operation Sindoor but also emphasized the transformation of the Indian Defence Forces into an agile, mission-focused entity capable of promptly confronting emerging security threats.
