Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, collaborating with the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, recently launched a targeted training program.
This four-day virtual training centered on laboratory auditing in alignment with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, an internationally acclaimed standard for testing and calibration labs.
A total of 22 staff members, including those from the Monitoring and Inspection Department, Radiation Protection Department, and a representative from the Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs, participated in the training.
The training's goal was to amplify participants' auditing capabilities of environmental laboratories per global quality guidelines. It also delved into practical aspects of air quality assessment, radiation safety protocols, and environmental inspections to ensure precision in test outcomes.
This effort underscores the Ministry's commitment to cultivating national expertise, elevating quality and calibration frameworks, and fostering sustainable development goals in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
