Sharjah, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, officially inaugurated the third ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) on Thursday. The ceremony, held at the SCC headquarters, was attended by senior members of Sharjah’s leadership and government officials.

The Crown Prince highlighted that the session reflects the enduring vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, emphasizing consultation, active participation, and collective responsibility in governance. “This session embodies the values of consultation and cooperation, helping shape policies that promote sustainable development and wellbeing for all residents,” he said.

During the opening, His Highness stressed the importance of collaboration, noting that the issues addressed by the SCC require responsibility and teamwork to deliver optimal decisions and recommendations. He reaffirmed his confidence in the Council’s ability to uphold the highest standards of consultation while advising members to safeguard the Emirate’s values and achievements.

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Emiri Decree No. 59 of 2025, calling the SCC to convene the session. His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the SCC, welcomed the Crown Prince and reiterated the Council’s commitment to representing the voice of Sharjah’s citizens. “We place the citizen at the heart of our priorities, translating their needs into actionable recommendations, and supporting government efforts to meet the Emirate’s aspirations,” Dr Al Nuaimi said.

He highlighted the Council’s focus on education, scientific research, economic growth, food security, and public services as pillars of Sharjah’s development, ensuring the Emirate remains a model of prosperity and stability under its Ruler’s leadership.

As part of the inauguration, the Crown Prince explored the SCC Historical Register Project, a digital platform documenting the Council’s history, achievements, and community participation. The project features six key sections, including elections, membership, and major milestones, preserving the SCC’s legacy for future generations.

The opening was attended by senior officials, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Finance Department, and Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, along with federal ministers, council members, and department heads.
