Learning and Cooperation in Judicial Systems

Sheikh Sultan pointed out that Sharjah’s Judicial Council aims to learn from distinguished institutions like Egypt’s State Council. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in legislation, reviewing laws, exchanging expertise, and attracting skilled talent. By sharing successful experiences with other countries, the Judicial Council hopes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its judicial work.

Egypt’s State Council Welcomes UAE Visit

The President of Egypt’s State Council welcomed Sheikh Sultan and expressed pride in the visit. He said that the meeting reflects the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Egypt. He praised Sharjah for its achievements in developing judicial and legal systems. The President also assured full cooperation to strengthen judicial frameworks in a way that benefits both countries.

Presentation on Egypt’s Judicial System

During the visit, Sheikh Sultan was shown a visual presentation explaining how Egypt’s State Council works. The presentation covered the Council’s structure and four main divisions: Judicial, Fatwa, Legislative, and General Secretariat. It also explained the roles of the General Assembly of Fatwa and Legislation, the Supreme Administrative Court, and specialized chambers that handle administrative disputes, disciplinary cases, and review contracts and laws.

Tour of Princess Fawqia Palace

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Sultan toured Princess Fawqia Palace, which is the current headquarters of Egypt’s State Council. During the tour, he viewed photographs of all the Council’s presidents since its establishment in 1947. He also saw pictures of other prominent figures who served in the Council. This gave him insight into the Council’s long history and its contributions to Egypt’s judicial system.

Historical Collections and Books

Sheikh Sultan also explored the historical collection at the palace. The collection includes a large number of books about Egypt’s judicial history. This helped Sheikh Sultan understand how Egypt’s legal system has developed over decades and how important it is to preserve knowledge and experience for future generations of judges and legal experts.

Exchange of Shields and Photographs

The visit concluded with a friendly and symbolic gesture. Sheikh Sultan and President Shalaby exchanged commemorative shields to mark the occasion. They also took group photographs with senior members of the Council, showing mutual respect and appreciation for the long-standing cooperation between their countries in the judicial field.

Importance of Judicial Cooperation

This visit highlights the importance of judicial cooperation between countries. By learning from each other, the UAE and Egypt can improve their legal systems, ensure justice, and protect citizens’ rights. Cooperation also helps in adopting international best practices, improving administrative procedures, and building stronger institutions.

Enhancing Legal Expertise

Exchanges like this provide opportunities for legal professionals, judges, and staff to learn new methods, review important legislation, and improve their decision-making skills. Sharing knowledge and experience is essential for developing a fair and efficient judicial system that serves both governments and citizens effectively.

Strengthening Rule of Law in the UAE

Sheikh Sultan’s visit demonstrates Sharjah’s commitment to the rule of law and justice. By engaging with established institutions like Egypt’s State Council, Sharjah’s Judicial Council can adopt successful strategies, modernize its systems, and attract skilled professionals to serve in key roles. This strengthens the overall judicial framework in the emirate.

Promoting Regional Judicial Cooperation

The visit also emphasizes the value of regional cooperation in the judicial sector. Close collaboration between the UAE and Egypt can set an example for other countries in the Arab world. Working together allows countries to share knowledge, harmonize regulations, and improve legal standards, ensuring fair and effective judicial processes.

Long-Term Benefits for Both Countries

In the long term, this partnership will benefit both nations by improving judicial efficiency, enhancing public trust in the legal system, and promoting peace and stability. Strong judicial institutions are critical for economic growth, social stability, and regional cooperation. Sharing expertise ensures that both countries continue to develop and strengthen their legal systems.

Preserving Judicial Heritage

By visiting the historical collections and understanding Egypt’s judicial history, Sheikh Sultan also recognized the importance of preserving judicial heritage. Maintaining records, books, and photographs helps future generations learn from past experiences and avoid repeating mistakes. It also inspires new strategies for modern judicial challenges.

Symbol of Friendship and Cooperation

The exchange of shields and photographs is a symbolic gesture showing the deep friendship and cooperation between the UAE and Egypt. Such visits strengthen ties between leaders, foster mutual respect, and pave the way for more joint initiatives in law, governance, and administration.

A Path Toward Stronger Legal Systems

This visit is part of Sharjah’s broader strategy to enhance judicial efficiency and promote justice. By learning from Egypt and other countries with established legal systems, Sharjah aims to create a legal framework that is transparent, fair, and effective. Such partnerships ensure continuous improvement and adaptation to modern challenges.
