Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan assessed the latest advancements within Al Ain's energy and water sectors, along with pivotal projects aimed at bolstering infrastructure and ensuring sustainable community services.
The updates were detailed at a meeting with a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy and TAQA, led by Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, the Department's Chairman.
During the session, Sheikh Hazza was familiarized with plans to enhance both resilience and crisis response capabilities within these vital sectors. Officials engaged in discussions regarding measures intended to maintain service continuity amid emergencies and evolving conditions, which are crucial for the long-term stability and sustainability of Al Ain's energy and water resources.
The dialogue also encompassed various strategic infrastructure initiatives, including expansion efforts aligned with the region's rising population and urban demands. These projects aim to optimize operational performance and deliver superior services to residents.
Furthermore, the meeting evaluated the performance metrics of companies within the energy and water sectors against established strategic and technical benchmarks. Officials emphasized ongoing initiatives to elevate operational efficiency, service quality, and overall sector performance, adhering to international standards.
Sheikh Hazza highlighted the need to continually advance the infrastructure landscape for energy and water services, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and AI integration. He articulated that these initiatives will bolster sustainability practices and support holistic development, enhancing future preparedness and resilience across both sectors.
The delegation expressed gratitude to Sheikh Hazza and the UAE leadership for their steadfast support of the energy and water sectors, reaffirming their pledge to boost service efficiency and sustainability in alignment with the UAE’s long-term developmental goals.
Attending the meeting with Sheikh Hazza were Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy, and TAQA’s Group CEO Jasim Husain Thabet, alongside various officials from both entities.
