UAE National Day Celebrated in Delhi, Strengthening India-UAE Relations

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The vibrant atmosphere of New Delhi marked the 54th UAE National Day celebration on Monday, where Union Minister Piyush Goyal showcased the enduring ties between India and the UAE. Hosted by UAE Ambassador Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, the event gathered diplomats, officials, and community members from both nations.

Goyal emphasized the complementary visions of the two nations, with India’s Vikasit Bharat 2047 aligning with the UAE’s national strategy, We the UAE 2031. He articulated a shared commitment to driving progress and enhancing prosperity for their citizens.

A key highlight of the evening was the flourishing educational partnership, as Goyal pointed out that top Indian institutions like IIT, IIM, and IIFT are setting up campuses in Dubai. This collaboration represents a significant step in international academic partnership, fostering stronger ties among people.

In a follow-up post on X, Goyal expressed his appreciation for the hospitality of the UAE ambassador and characterized the India-UAE bond as one rooted in trust, innovation, and a progressive outlook.

Celebrated annually on December 2, National Day commemorates the historic federation established in 1971, uniting Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah, with Ras Al Khaimah joining in 1972 to form the seven-emirate nation we see today.

This celebration in Delhi serves as a testament to the development of the India-UAE partnership and the bright future that lies ahead as both countries advance cooperation in various sectors, including trade, education, culture, and technology.
