Turkmenistan has sent a delegation to the 10th International Forum on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), hosted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Barcelona from April 27 to 29, 2026. The event gathers global decision-makers, industry leaders, and financial experts.
This forum acts as a vital venue for exploring cutting-edge strategies in infrastructure investment, economic sustainability, and collaborative growth. The involvement of Turkmenistan showcases its dedication to enhancing international partnerships and integrating progressive economic models.
Throughout the forum, Turkmen officials are outlining crucial initiatives aimed at fostering the nation's contemporary market economy. They are also emphasizing the significant role of the private sector in stimulating national progress and unlocking new economic possibilities.
Attendees will be briefed on various sectors ripe for collaboration, including transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, digital economy, urban development, and tourism, all of which present substantial opportunities for foreign investments.
A standout feature of Turkmenistan's presentation is the Avaza National Tourist Zone, aimed at attracting private investment and set to become pivotal in driving both tourism and overall economic expansion.
Being a landlocked nation, Turkmenistan is keen to leverage public-private partnerships to navigate geographic limitations and enhance connectivity. Moreover, it is backing the Avaza Action Plan for Landlocked Developing Countries for the period of 2024–2034.
Officials are optimistic that participation in this forum will boost global alliances and draw investments into strategic sectors, reinforcing Turkmenistan’s commitment to sustainable development and modernization through cooperative international efforts.
