UAE And Elon Musk Explore AI, Robotics And Media Collaboration

Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Office, the UAE Media Council, and BRIDGE, met Elon Musk, CEO of X, SpaceX, Tesla, and Starlink, at Tesla’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California. The meeting focused on exploring future technology and media collaboration ahead of the inaugural BRIDGE Summit in Abu Dhabi, scheduled from December 8 to 10.

Invitation To BRIDGE Summit

During the meeting, Al Hamed formally invited Musk to participate in the summit, which is expected to be the world’s largest debut media event. Both sides discussed how emerging technologies such as AI, robotics, data centres, and sustainable energy can serve as drivers for social and economic transformation in the UAE and globally.

Focus On AI And Advanced Technologies

Musk emphasized the importance of providing clean and affordable energy to power innovation. He praised the UAE’s leadership in AI and other advanced technologies. Discussions also touched on the ethical use of AI and the development of next-generation AI models, including Musk’s Grok 5, highlighting the growing role of AI in media and society.

The meeting included a tour of Tesla’s Optimus robotics lab, where the leaders explored robotics as a present-day reality for innovation. The lab showcased practical applications of advanced robotics, aligning with UAE initiatives to integrate robotics and AI across media, technology, and education sectors.

Collaboration Opportunities Explored

Al Hamed and Musk discussed opportunities for collaboration in several areas, including AI innovation labs, educational content, sustainable energy projects, and satellite communications through Starlink. These initiatives aim to expand digital access across the Middle East, Africa, and other regions, supporting both educational and technological development.

Al Hamed stated that the UAE views media as a powerful tool for knowledge and awareness.
