Under the patronage of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, participated in the Digital Bridge 2025 Forum in Astana. The forum brings together leading officials, global experts, startups, and investors to discuss technology and digital innovation.
Advisory AI Council Sessions
Al Olama also took part in sessions of the Advisory Artificial Intelligence Council, where government leaders and international experts discussed strategies for AI adoption, digital transformation, and innovation in both the public and private sectors.
AI as a Pillar for Development
In his speech, Al Olama highlighted that artificial intelligence is essential for improving governance and institutional efficiency. He said AI has positive impacts on society’s well-being and can transform how governments and businesses operate.
UAE’s AI Vision
Al Olama noted that under the UAE leadership, the country has implemented a comprehensive national AI strategy. This positions the UAE as a global hub for AI and future technologies. He emphasized that AI is a key driver of development and innovation in the nation.
Strengthening UAE-Kazakhstan Collaboration
Al Olama praised the partnership between the UAE and Kazakhstan, noting how both nations can leverage technology for a sustainable future. He also recognized Kazakhstan’s pioneering role in AI on the global stage, supporting cooperation in research, governance, mobility, and digital adoption.
Shared Vision for Talent and Innovation
The UAE and Kazakhstan share a common vision focused on developing AI talent and fostering strategic partnerships. Both countries aim to work together on initiatives that advance artificial intelligence and innovation for social and economic growth.
Digital Bridge 2025 is Kazakhstan’s premier international technology forum, held from 2nd to 4th October in Astana. The event hosts more than 67,000 participants, over 1,000 speakers from 100+ countries, and more than 500 startups and investors. The forum covers AI, blockchain, healthtech, edutech, IoT, AR/VR, agritech, cybersecurity, e-commerce, space tech, and more.
In the past year, the UAE and Kazakhstan signed 22 bilateral agreements valued at over US$5 billion. The UAE is Kazakhstan’s leading Arab partner in trade, energy, and transport, highlighting the strong economic and technological collaboration between the two nations.
Both countries are committed to advancing AI, including generative AI, regulatory frameworks, and ethical guidelines. Their goal is to foster sustainable development, digital innovation, and a shared technology-driven future benefiting the region and the world.
