UAE President Meets Omani Leader to Strengthen Ties & Cooperation

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Oman for a fraternal visit. Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at the Royal Airport in Salalah. The reception reflected the strong friendship and historical ties between the UAE and Oman.

Meeting at Al Hosn Palace

The leaders met at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah. During the meeting, they exchanged warm remarks emphasizing the deep-rooted connections and enduring bonds between the two nations. Both leaders highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation for mutual benefits and prosperity.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During the discussions, the two leaders reviewed progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing relations in political, economic, social, and cultural fields. Both sides expressed a desire to work together in ways that benefit the people of their countries.

The UAE President and Omani Sultan discussed recent regional developments, including the Israeli attack on Qatar. Both leaders strongly condemned the attack, calling it a violation of national sovereignty and international law. They expressed full solidarity with Qatar and support for any measures the country takes to protect its citizens and security.

The leaders stressed that the attack represents a serious threat to regional security and stability. They reiterated the importance of joint efforts to ensure peace and safety in the Gulf region and maintain a secure environment for all nations.

GCC Cooperation and Integration

Both leaders emphasized their commitment to strengthening Gulf integration and supporting initiatives that promote development, prosperity, and collaboration among member states. Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and ministers from culture, sports, and youth attended.

Departure and Farewell

At the end of the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan departed Oman. His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, along with senior officials, bid him farewell at the Royal Airport in Salalah. The departure marked the conclusion of a successful fraternal visit focused on strengthening UAE-Oman relations.
