Dubai Police has witnessed strong volunteer participation in its Ramadan initiatives during the first half of the holy month, with 1,170 male and female volunteers from different nationalities and age groups taking part in community activities across the emirate.
The volunteers supported several humanitarian efforts, including distributing iftar meals at mosques across Dubai and handing out meals to drivers at traffic signals just before Maghrib prayer. These initiatives aim to support fasting residents and promote kindness and solidarity during Ramadan.
Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, praised the volunteers for their dedication to humanitarian and community work. He said their efforts reflect the values of Emirati society during the month of giving, mercy, and forgiveness.
Al Mansouri noted that the volunteers played a key role in the success of Ramadan initiatives that promote compassion and unity. Their participation helped bring joy to those observing the fast while also sharing in the spiritual rewards of the holy month.
Dubai Police provided 11 volunteer opportunities through its dedicated volunteer platform, allowing community members to actively take part in humanitarian activities during Ramadan. According to Al Mansouri, the initiative supports government efforts to encourage community participation and shared responsibility while improving the overall quality of life.
He also highlighted that volunteer involvement in Ramadan programmes helps strengthen volunteering as an institutional value through innovative initiatives that empower both employees and the public to contribute to community service.
Al Mansouri added that the strong response from volunteers shows growing public awareness about the importance of volunteering and its role in achieving sustainable development goals.
