Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios are set to launch their war drama 120 Bahadur in a groundbreaking initiative, featuring screenings in defence theatres throughout India. This film marks the first Indian production to be shown to these audiences via PictureTime’s expanding mobile cinema network. It will be released worldwide on November 21.
In collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, PictureTime has arranged for screenings in over 800 defence cinema halls nationwide. These venues primarily cater to soldiers and their families, many of whom are located in remote areas with limited access to conventional cinematic experiences. This endeavor aims to bring the film directly to the armed forces community.
Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of PictureTime, expressed that this initiative targets a broad yet underserved audience. With India housing 1.5 million active soldiers along with numerous veterans and family members, only a fraction currently benefits from defence theatres. He emphasized the significance of launching the broader network with 120 Bahadur due to the film’s emotional resonance with the military.
Excel Entertainment CEO Vishal Ramchandani conveyed appreciation for the film’s early access to those it aims to honor before its widespread release. He mentioned the privilege of having soldiers and their families as initial viewers and commended PictureTime for facilitating the extensive outreach.
The narrative of 120 Bahadur draws inspiration from the Battle of Rezang La, a pivotal event in India’s military history. The film features actors Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, among others. Senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan also play key roles.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, the film is set to hit cinemas on November 21.
