Post by : Meena Hassan

The 2025 Global Soccer Awards celebrated football's brightest talents and legends, bringing together influential figures and ardent fans in a night of recognition. The event was graced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, adding an air of distinction to the festivities.

A highlight of the evening was Ousmane Dembélé from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) earning his first Best Men’s Player award, a significant achievement for the French forward. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona's Aitana Bonmatí made history by securing the Best Women’s Player title for the third consecutive time, solidifying her status in women's football.

PSG had a triumphant evening overall, claiming the Best Men’s Club title after a remarkable season featuring victories in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France. Additional accolades followed, with Luis Enrique recognized as Best Coach and Vitinha as Best Midfielder. Désié Doué won the Emerging Player award, and the club's directors were also honored as Luis Campos earned Best Sporting Director, and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was named Best President.

Celebrating FC Barcelona’s achievements, the club received the Best Women’s Club award, complemented by Bonmatí's individual success. Additionally, Lamine Yamal garnered attention with her Best Forward and Maradona Award wins, signaling a bright future for both the club and the sport.

The ceremony also paid homage to football legends, honoring Andrés Iniesta for his World Cup contributions and celebrating Japanese icon Hidetoshi Nakata’s stellar career.

In a moving segment, the awards dedicated a tribute to the late Diogo Jota, remembered for his talent on and off the pitch. A special award was presented to his grieving family.

The 2025 Global Soccer Awards served as a reminder of football’s compelling spirit, celebrating both emerging stars and those who have left a lasting impact on the game.
