Abu Dhabi is set to welcome another spectacular week of elite tennis as defending champion Belinda Bencic and promising Filipino talent Alexandra Eala confirm their participation in the 2026 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. The WTA 500 event is scheduled to run from January 31 to February 7 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.
Ranked World No. 11, Bencic is returning after winning in both 2023 and 2025. Her victory in 2025 was particularly special as she celebrated with her daughter, Bella, in front of a cheering audience. Known for her tactical skill, precise strokes, and versatility on the court, the Swiss ace remains undefeated at the Abu Dhabi Open, making her a key player to follow this year.

As a former US Open girls’ singles champion trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy, she is now recognized as Asia’s most promising rising star and the highest-ranked Filipino player in Tour history.
