Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

A total of 325 shooters, both male and female, are set to participate in the highly anticipated fourth leg of the UAE Licensed Weapons Shooting Championship, scheduled for November 15 and 16 at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting, and Golf Club. This event signifies yet another highlight in the championship's calendar, promising fierce competition across various categories.

The organizing committee has officially noted that this round will include multiple rifle shooting competitions segmented into men’s, women’s, and juniors’ categories. A special crowning ceremony will honor three gold champions—one from each category—for their exceptional performances.

The breakdown of participants features 229 shooters in the men's air rifle category, 47 in the women's air rifle category, and 49 juniors. This strong turnout underscores the rising popularity of shooting sports in the UAE and exhibits the championship's effectiveness in attracting skilled marksmen from all over the country.

The committee lauded the impressive participation levels seen in past rounds held in Al Dhafra, Ajman, and Masfout, which showcased remarkable performances and technical skill across all categories. The enthusiasm and level of excellence displayed previously are substantial motivators for competitors as they prepare for the upcoming Al Ain event.

Officials highlighted that the success of earlier rounds has sparked a great deal of anticipation for this fourth leg, as many athletes are eager to convey their precision and consistency under competitive pressure. The event not only aims to highlight emerging talent but also fortifies the UAE’s standing as a significant supporter of shooting sports in the region.

Appreciation was extended to the Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club for their commitment to hosting this championship, ensuring excellent facilities for the comfort and safety of all participants. Renowned for its world-class infrastructure, the venue is a preferred location for both national and international shooting competitions.

The organizing committee stated that the Al Ain club has instituted rigorous safety protocols to ensure a smooth competition. These measures align with the championship’s operational standards focused on safety, discipline, and integrity.

The UAE Licensed Weapons Shooting Championship is acknowledged for instilling the values of discipline and focus in its participants while celebrating the cultural importance of shooting as a traditional sport in the Emirates. Each championship round fosters a diverse array of shooters, providing them opportunities to hone their skills under professional guidance.

This tournament is a key part of UAE's dedication to advancing shooting sports as an essential area of national excellence. It aims to inspire young shooters, preparing them for future international competitions while promoting responsible weapon handling. The encouragement of junior participants demonstrates a commitment to nurturing future champions who can represent the UAE globally.

The committee indicated that the Al Ain round is anticipated to be one of the most thrilling stages, with top shooters vying for gold and national acclaim. The championship not only celebrates athletic prowess but also fosters camaraderie and respect within the shooting community.

For many participants, especially juniors, this championship serves as a vital opportunity to garner experience and learn from seasoned shooters representing the UAE in various events. The championship will also facilitate chances for participants to qualify for higher-level competitions.

Since its inception, the championship has been widely successful, growing in both stature and popularity with each passing round. Its well-structured organization, skilled competitors, and robust backing from UAE sports authorities have cemented its role within the country’s annual sports calendar.

As the Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club readies itself to host hundreds of athletes, spectators, and organizers, the stage is set for two days of intense yet amicable competition that will celebrate skill and sportsmanship. This tournament not only enhances the UAE's sporting culture but also showcases the nation's capability to host large-scale, well-organized sporting events safely and professionally.
