Abu Dhabi is set to enforce a ban on delivery motorcycles on designated high-speed roads beginning May 15, 2026, as part of an initiative aimed at enhancing road safety and minimizing traffic hazards.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), functioning under Abu Dhabi Mobility, confirmed that delivery bikes will be barred from roads with a speed limit of 120 km/h or more.
This prohibition will also extend to Sheikh Zayed Street, particularly the stretch between Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Tunnel.
According to officials, this measure is designed to elevate traffic safety standards and forge a safer transportation environment for both riders and drivers on the principal highways in the emirate.
Authorities indicated that this regulation aims to safeguard delivery personnel from the risks associated with high-speed traffic and simultaneously facilitate smoother traffic flow on busy thoroughfares.
This rule is part of Abu Dhabi's comprehensive road safety efforts and will come into force on May 15, 2026.
