The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed two strategic cooperation agreements with the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Association of Business. These agreements were finalised during the Abu Dhabi economic delegation’s visit to the United States and aim to enhance trade, investment, and economic collaboration between Abu Dhabi and key US states.
Objectives of the Agreements
The agreements are designed to create new opportunities for Abu Dhabi’s private sector in the US market, strengthen bilateral economic ties, and support investment partnerships. They align with the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s 2025–2028 roadmap, which prioritises empowering national companies, encouraging innovation, and promoting sustainable economic growth.
Cooperation with North Carolina Chamber
The first agreement, signed with the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, focuses on promoting joint investments and facilitating the participation of Emirati and American businesses in exhibitions and economic forums. It also supports the exchange of information on investment climates, trade regulations, and best practices.
The partnership includes organising virtual events, reciprocal visits, and establishing a registry of Emirati companies investing in North Carolina to create a practical database for future investment opportunities. Cooperation also extends to technical training and comprehensive support for trade delegations visiting both countries.
Partnership with Texas Association of Business
The second agreement, signed with the Texas Association of Business, emphasises expanding trade and industrial collaboration. It encourages the exchange of economic information, corporate networking, and the organisation of joint events and reciprocal visits.
The agreement also promotes participation in specialised exhibitions and forums while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Knowledge-sharing and adoption of advanced technologies are key aspects of this partnership. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to intellectual property protection and confidentiality.
Statements from Abu Dhabi Chamber Officials
Shames Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said these agreements reflect the Chamber’s dedication to implementing its 2025–2028 roadmap. He highlighted that the partnerships support innovation, empower the private sector, and help national companies expand globally.
He added that the collaborations with North Carolina and Texas will strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global economic hub. They will also provide national companies with access to new markets and contribute to building an innovative and sustainable business ecosystem capable of meeting future demands.
Economic Impact and Future Outlook
The agreements are expected to boost trade flows, attract investment, and encourage knowledge exchange between Abu Dhabi and the US. They will enable Emirati companies to explore growth opportunities, establish international partnerships, and enhance competitiveness in global markets.
This initiative is part of Abu Dhabi’s broader vision of positioning itself as a leading global business and investment destination, supporting the UAE’s strategic economic objectives and ensuring sustainable development for the private sector.
