Inclusive Marine Sports Festival in Abu Dhabi Celebrates People of Determination

On Thursday, Abu Dhabi highlighted a day of extraordinary achievement for People of Determination as Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, presented awards at the People of Determination Marine Sports Festival. This event showcased the UAE’s commitment to promoting opportunities for all athletes to engage and excel in competitive sports.

Hosted by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in partnership with Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, and backed by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this collaborative effort ensured a seamless execution. The festival offered a welcoming platform for participants to display their skills in marine sports.

Competitions in sailing and kayaking captivated spectators, as athletes demonstrated remarkable skill and tenacity. With over 50 competitors participating, the event encapsulated a profound commitment to sportsmanship and excellence. Each athlete's performance contributed to an inspiring celebration of talent and determination.

Among the attendees of the prize-giving ceremony were Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi of the Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination, Rashid Al Falahi from the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and Khalifa Al Suwaidi from the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan personally commended the winners for their dedication and perseverance.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi noted that the festival exemplifies the UAE’s unwavering dedication to supporting People of Determination. He pointed out that fostering an inclusive sports culture allows these athletes to not only showcase their skills but also aspire to greater achievements. This festival is a vital part of ongoing initiatives aimed at integrating People of Determination into a variety of sports across the nation.
