Actor and former doctor Rajashekar recently returned to filming after a break due to health issues. The 63-year-old star suffered a serious injury to his ankle while shooting an action scene for his upcoming film in Medchal, Hyderabad. On November 25, he experienced multiple fractures and a bimalleolar dislocation with a compound fracture, a severe condition caused by high-impact trauma. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors recommended urgent surgery to avoid complications.
Rajashekar underwent a three-hour procedure that included open reduction and internal fixation with K-wires, screws, and a semi-tubular plate to stabilize his ankle. A trans-fixation of the tibia was also performed using a wire through the calcaneum and talus. Following the surgery, the actor is in intense pain and has been advised to keep his leg immobile for three to four weeks. His team has postponed all filming schedules until January 2026, depending on his recovery.
Interestingly, this is not Rajashekar’s first serious leg injury. He had a similar ankle injury during the shooting of Magaadu in November 1989. Despite the setback, he is gradually recovering and focusing on his health before resuming work.
Rajashekar was last seen in Vakkantham Vamsi’s 2023 film Extra Ordinary Man with Nithiin and Sreeleela. He is currently working on Biker with Sharwanand, which was initially set for release on December 11. In addition, he has two other movies yet to be announced. His wife Jeevitha and daughters Shivani and Shivathmika have not yet commented on his condition.
Fans hope the actor recovers quickly and returns to the screen safely, as he continues to be one of the most respected and talented stars in Telugu cinema. His journey highlights the risks actors face and the importance of proper recovery after serious injuries.
