The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) has gained international recognition by winning the Bronze Award in the “Best Fan Engagement Programme” category at the prestigious Sports Business Awards. This achievement highlights the Council’s innovative work in engaging audiences and creating memorable experiences for fans.

The award was presented in London at Old Billingsgate during a ceremony attended by Nasser Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Strategic Affairs Sector at ADSC. The recognition comes following the fourth edition of the Spartan World Championship, held from 28th November to 1st December 2024, where ADSC showcased its commitment to delivering world-class sporting events.

The Council’s fan engagement strategies are designed to transform spectators from passive viewers into active participants. By implementing creative initiatives, ADSC ensures that every fan feels connected to the events, enhancing the overall experience. This approach strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for sports, known for its professionalism and innovation.

Speaking about the achievement, Nasser Al Zaabi said, “Winning the Bronze Award for Best Fan Engagement Programme reflects our dedication to elevating the audience experience. Our goal is to make every participant feel like an important part of the event. This recognition motivates us to further enhance our engagement platforms and solidify Abu Dhabi’s status as a global sports capital.”

He also added, “We dedicate this award to our partners, the Abu Dhabi sports community, and every fan who shared their enthusiasm with us. Sport has the power to inspire and unite people, and we remain committed to delivering events that bring fans closer to the action.”

The fourth edition of the Spartan World Championship was held at Al Wathba Desert in Abu Dhabi and organized by ADSC in collaboration with Spartan, a world leader in endurance and obstacle course racing. The championship is one of the most important global competitions in physical endurance, attracting over 6,500 participants from more than 80 nationalities.

Through such events, ADSC continues to implement its strategy of attracting major international sporting competitions to the emirate. The Council’s approach focuses not only on hosting top-level events but also on creating innovative fan engagement experiences that leave lasting memories and build a loyal global audience.

This Bronze Award is a reflection of Abu Dhabi’s continuous efforts to develop advanced sports platforms, foster community partnerships, and implement sustainable practices across events. By prioritizing fan interaction, ADSC has set a benchmark for sports event management in the region.

The recognition at the Sports Business Awards further confirms Abu Dhabi’s commitment to becoming a leading international destination for sports, where high-quality infrastructure, creativity, and a focus on the fan experience converge. ADSC’s success in the Spartan World Championship demonstrates its ability to combine endurance sports with engaging and inclusive audience experiences.

With this international acknowledgment, Abu Dhabi strengthens its reputation as a city capable of hosting world-class sporting events, attracting global athletes, and offering fans unforgettable experiences. ADSC’s continuous innovation and dedication to enhancing fan participation ensure that Abu Dhabi remains at the forefront of the global sports landscape.
