Abhishek Bachchan Praises Agastya Nanda for Role in Ikkis

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Actor Abhishek Bachchan has shown his support for his nephew Agastya Nanda, who will play a key role in the upcoming war drama Ikkis. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, tells the story of Indian Army Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who died at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.

Abhishek shared a behind-the-scenes video from the sets of Ikkis, showing Agastya reflecting on the honour of portraying such an important figure. Agastya said, “Arun Khetarpal is a legendary figure. I feel extremely grateful to play him and bring his story to the audience.” Abhishek reacted on social media, praising his dedication and calling it a “huge honour and responsibility,” wishing him success and blessings from God and audiences.

The movie features an ensemble cast including Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Aadyanshi Kapoor, Simar Bhatia, Ekavali Khanna, Shree Bishnoi, Sikandar Kher, and Akashh Alonia. Produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is set to release on December 25, 2025. The film highlights Arun Khetarpal’s bravery and the events of the 1971 war, keeping his legacy alive for future generations.

Agastya, in earlier interviews, shared how portraying a soldier taught him valuable lessons about discipline, respect, and manners. He said even without the film, experiencing the fauji lifestyle was rewarding, giving him insight into the life of an army officer. Fans and family members, including Abhishek, are eagerly waiting to see Agastya’s performance in this highly anticipated film.
