Air Arabia Begins Daily Direct Flights From Sharjah to Krabi

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Air Arabia has begun a new daily nonstop flight service between Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and Krabi, a beautiful coastal city in Thailand. This new flight route officially started on 28 November 2025. The launch of this route is important because it gives passengers a simple and direct travel option between the two destinations. It also aims to increase tourism, business travel, and cultural exchange between the UAE and Thailand. Air Arabia is known for expanding its network, and this new Krabi connection is seen as another major step in strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia.

The first flight of this new service departed from Sharjah International Airport on 28 November 2025. When the aircraft landed at Krabi Airport, the passengers on board received a warm welcome. The reception was led by Phipat Ratchakitprakarn, who is the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and also serves as the Minister of Transport. Other senior officials from Air Arabia and Krabi Airport were also present to celebrate the special moment. The welcome ceremony showed how important this new connection is for Thailand, especially for the tourism industry in Krabi, which is famous for its beaches, islands, and natural beauty.

Krabi is considered one of the most visited tourist places in Thailand. It is known for places like Railay Beach, Ao Nang, Phi Phi Islands, and Phang Nga Bay. Every year, millions of travelers visit Krabi to enjoy nature, adventure sports, local food, and peaceful resorts. Having a direct daily flight from Sharjah makes it much easier for people from the UAE, the Gulf region, and nearby countries to visit Krabi. Before this service, travelers often had to take connecting flights. This new direct option will save people both time and effort.

Adel Al Ali, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, shared his thoughts on the launch of the new flight during the ceremony. He said that operating the first direct flight to Krabi is a new and significant milestone for the airline in expanding its network within Southeast Asia. He explained that the daily service will give customers more convenience and flexibility when planning trips. He also mentioned that this new connection will help support travel and trade links between the UAE and Thailand. According to him, the partnership between the two countries continues to grow, and this new air route will make the relationship even stronger.

Air Arabia already operates flights from Sharjah to two major cities in Thailand: Bangkok and Phuket. With the addition of Krabi, travelers now have three direct options to reach Thailand from the UAE. This is expected to attract more tourists, business visitors, and families wanting easy travel. Air Arabia believes that this expansion will increase the number of travelers visiting Thailand, especially from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. The availability of daily flights also makes it easier for people to plan short holidays or weekend trips.

For travelers living in the UAE, the new service offers a fresh and exciting option. Many residents love visiting Thailand because it is affordable, offers great food, beautiful landscapes, and many activities. With the daily nonstop flight, travelers from Dubai, Sharjah, and nearby emirates can fly directly to Krabi without any stopovers. This is especially helpful for families with children, senior travelers, and people who prefer a shorter travel time. The flight also makes it simpler for adventure lovers, divers, and beach travelers to reach Krabi’s popular tourist spots.

Thailand’s tourism sector depends heavily on international visitors. The launch of Air Arabia’s direct service will likely bring more tourists from the UAE and other countries connected through Sharjah Airport. This will help hotels, restaurants, travel companies, and local businesses in Krabi. The presence of the Deputy Prime Minister during the launch event shows that Thailand places great importance on this new connection. It also reflects the country's commitment to welcoming more travelers and improving international tourism.

While Krabi is mainly a tourist destination, the new flight route is also expected to help with business connections. The UAE is one of Thailand’s major trade partners in the Middle East. The availability of daily flights will support easier movement for businesspeople, investors, and industry professionals. It also helps in promoting small businesses, export opportunities, and bilateral cooperation between the two nations. A direct flight also encourages companies to explore opportunities in hospitality, retail, real estate, and tourism services.

Having a daily flight means travelers have more freedom in selecting travel dates that suit their schedules. Daily flights also allow airlines to handle increased demand, especially during holidays and vacation seasons. Nonstop service is important because it reduces travel time and removes the inconvenience of long layovers. Air Arabia aims to provide affordable travel options, and this new route fits well with their goal of making international travel simple and accessible.

The launch of the Sharjah–Krabi route marks the beginning of a new chapter for Air Arabia and for travelers who enjoy exploring Thailand. The airline plans to continue expanding its network to reach more destinations. With the success of the new Krabi service, it is likely that more routes in Southeast Asia will be considered in the future. For now, passengers can enjoy an easier and more comfortable journey to one of Thailand’s most beautiful regions.
