Ajman Chamber Boosts Food Supply Chain Coordination

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry convened a high-level meeting with key stakeholders from the food sector to review supply chain developments and enhance coordination between government and private entities.

The meeting, held at the Chamber’s headquarters, was chaired by Director General Salem Al Suwaidi. Senior officials and representatives from food factories, companies, and shopping centres also attended, highlighting the sector’s growing importance in ensuring food security.

During the session, Al Suwaidi emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between public and private sectors. He called for innovative and proactive strategies to improve the efficiency of food supply systems in line with global trends.

He also acknowledged the efforts of government authorities in monitoring markets, maintaining price stability, and ensuring the consistent availability of essential food items.

Highlighting the private sector’s contribution, Al Suwaidi praised food manufacturers and companies for enhancing production capacity and adopting innovation to support self-sufficiency goals.

The meeting focused on a forward-looking action plan aimed at strengthening supply chain resilience. Discussions included improving coordination mechanisms, enhancing storage and transportation efficiency, and leveraging modern solutions to address future challenges.

Participants also explored proposals to further empower business groups and align their role with the objectives of Ajman’s long-term development vision.

The initiative reflects Ajman’s commitment to building a sustainable and efficient food ecosystem through strong public-private partnerships.
