UAE Welcomes the 2025 World Para Shooting Championships in Al Ain

From 25th October to 5th November 2025, the UAE will be the venue for the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. This premier event assembles athletes with disabilities from across the globe to compete at elite levels, underscoring sports inclusion and excellence.

The championship, in collaboration with the International Paralympic Committee and the World Shooting Para Sport Federation, is orchestrated by the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Competitors will hail from 37 countries, comprising approximately 370 individuals, which includes 213 male and female athletes set to participate in 43 events across various categories, including men’s, women’s, and visually impaired disciplines. They will showcase their abilities on the world stage.

Events will cover air pistol, air rifle, small-bore rifle, shotgun, and visually impaired shooting, with all competitions adhering strictly to international regulations for fairness and precision. This marks the eighth occasion that the UAE has hosted this distinguished championship, demonstrating its strengthening status in the domain of para-sports.

Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, remarked that once more hosting this championship demonstrates the trust placed in the UAE by the International Paralympic Committee and the World Shooting Para Sport Federation regarding its organizational prowess and outstanding infrastructure.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, commented that this championship adheres to the visionary goals of the UAE leadership to enhance the nation’s presence in the global sports arena. It empowers People of Determination, providing them with chances to shine internationally and gain acknowledgment for their skills and dedication.

Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at Zayed Authority and Chairman of the Championship’s Supreme Organising Committee, expressed appreciation for the UAE’s supportive leadership for People of Determination. He emphasized that this championship has become a cornerstone on the international para-sport calendar due to the UAE’s continual success in hosting it.

The World Shooting Para Sport World Cup transcends mere competition; it cultivates inclusion, fosters international collaboration, and positions the UAE as a premier host for para-sport endeavors. Athletes from all corners of the globe will have the chance to exhibit their talent, resilience, and sportsmanship, paving the way for future generations in para-sports.
