Summer Storm Warning Issued for Northern Thailand

Summer Storm Warning Issued for Northern Thailand

Post by : Shakul

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has announced that Northern Thailand is set to face summer storms from April 23 to April 25, 2026. This information was validated by the Thailand Anti-Fake News Center, which encouraged citizens to adopt precautionary measures during this time.

Officials predict that thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning are likely, with some areas even facing potential hail. The weather system will begin in northern and northeastern regions before moving towards central and eastern areas.

Meteorological experts attribute this weather pattern to a high-pressure system or a cold air mass transitioning from China across the South China Sea towards northeastern Thailand. Meanwhile, exceptionally hot temperatures in upper Thailand are heightening the risk of sudden and severe summer storms.

Residents are urged to stay vigilant, refrain from outdoor activities during severe weather, and secure properties against potential wind damage. Those in at-risk areas should keep a close watch on official weather updates and adhere to safety advisories from local authorities.

Additionally, air quality issues continue to plague northern and upper central regions, with pollution levels surpassing safe limits due to a significant number of hotspots nearby. It's recommended that the public limit outdoor exposure and wear N95 masks when necessary.

The Ministry has also raised concerns about the rising tide of misinformation circulating online, warning that such false information can incite confusion and panic, posing risks at both personal and societal levels. Citizens are strongly advised to confirm information through trusted sources prior to sharing it on social platforms.

Authorities stress that staying informed and sharing verified information is crucial, especially during weather emergencies. By relying on authentic updates, the public can maintain safety and mitigate unnecessary hazards during this storm period.
